25 Weeks

June 26 2014

Welcome to the end of Week 25!

This week is a big milestone- only 15 more weeks to go, and our blood test from our glucose test came back at 77 which from my understanding is a good thing. Im very happy about that.

This week from crown to rump your body is about 9 inches long ( not including those long baby legs!). You weigh in about a pound and a half if not a little more.  I love you lil whopper junior! Your body is busy getting your lungs ready to squeal, cry, and laugh. It brings them one step closer to full maturity. They are developing some stuff called surfactant ( it helps your lungs expand and open once you are born ). Also your nostrils which were once plugged are now opening, and you can practice breathing! You'll be doing that for the rest of your life, so get in as much practice as you can now.

I have had a few dreams about you- you are absolutely perfect.  I cant wait to meet you- I cant wait to hold you, to touch you, and to tell you I love you, and how very special you really are. Every time I feel you move I play a game trying to guess what youre doing in there, stretching, kicking, and punching around. I try and guess what part is where and how you lay around in my belly. Live it up in there baby, you have no worries, and no cares. Just stay busy being perfect and growing.

In the past few days, you have been so full of yourself. Moving all around, all over. Usually about the time I am ready for bed, you start up a bunch of baby calisthenics. Who knows what you're doing - but you keep me awake for a while. Anyone else who would try and keep me awake when Im really tired gets a true dose of Kelly as Crankenstein. However because its you, I cant be mad. You, youre different, you make me smile anytime during the day or night when I feel you move- I love you jelly bean.

Stay sweet, love you always

Yes, Im aware my clothes don't match. That's okay, because its about all that fits these days. I should go get some mu mu's or sweat pants.

24 weeks!!!

Well, we made through another week youngin'

Hey there sweet child!!! Twenty four weeks have come and gone. I can hardly believe it myself.

In the past week, we have been able to see you, weigh you, and measure you.

So here we see your profile, and your fist all balled up.  Maybe you were trying to touch your face. You were rubbing your belly quite a bit in the live footage ( or so it looked because you kept reaching down towards your abdomen)

There's another shot of your profile- such a sweet face! Look at those baby lips and cute lil nose!

Here you are scratching and rubbing your head.

And your sweet face again, from the top. Here we see the shadows on your face, your eyes, your nose forehead and maybe mommy's lil pointy chin. I Love You SO MUCH!

At 24 Weeks, you are as big as an ear of corn. You weigh about a pound and a half. That's pretty big if you ask me. You have gained about four ounces since last week. This week after your ultrasound and photo shoot, we went and had our 1 hour glucose test done. Hopefully we pass. I woke up and went to the lab, drank a super sweet syrupy fruit punch ( thank goodness because I like fruit punch) drink. They made us sit and wait in the waiting room and then one hour later get two small vials of blood for the results. Not a bad test but I could have really used  a power nap. I went to work afterwards and felt my energy level drop. I was extremely tired.

We also went to a Fathers Day cook out at your Aunt Tiffany and Uncle Shad's. We celebrated 2 birthdays, and your dad and sisters enjoyed the large inflatable slide. We ( you and I ) gave your daddy a very special Fathers Day card for his First Fathers Day with you. You are really going to be a very special blessing in all of our lives.

Another fun thing that happened this past week is that we moved across town. Moving causes me extreme anxiety. Its not something I like to do. However I did find some stores  Id like to browse around in and maybe we'll go look soon. It is much nicer and quiet here and closer to work.

One thing I am really looking forward to is going back to visit North Carolina. I am so excited! Getting to visit family, and close friends and church family. You can just feel the love and warmth when you are around them.  Also, You'll get a chance to hear your cousins Haiden and Rowan- I cant wait for you to meet them when you are born.  Im sure you'll love them as much as I do. Theyre very cool kids, and fun too. Tomorrow is Haiden's 5th Birthday. I cant believe it. Happy Birthday to my Sweet Haidey Bug!

That's about it for this week jellybean- you keep up the hard work and grow, stretch and relax as much as you can while there is still room. I love you sweet baby- I'm going to go and rub on my belly and you. ( You're beginning to respond to that a lot more )

I love you,

And Happy Birthday Haiden, I love you!!!!

Week number 23

23 Weeks!

Well Hello there - looks like we have  successfully completed 23 weeks.

This past week was a good one for the most part. No sickness, no major aches & pains - just a few sleepless nights. Aside from that we are feeling pretty good. Way to grow baby boo! Im very proud of you.

Major Accomplishments for this week:

Your length : about the size of a large spaghetti squash / butternut squash ( I think this week was a weight week )

Your weight: 1 pound and quarter oz. up to 1 pound and a half

Your vestibular system - the part of your brain that senses movement is already working. You're sensing all of my movements. At the same time, your hearing is continually getting sharper. Sounds are becoming more distinct. You can hear dogs barking, alarms going off, the sounds of my voice when I sing and talk to you, and the sound of your daddys voice. Soon this weekend you'll hear the squealy voices of your two sisters.  I think you really enjoy when I talk to you and rub my belly ( especially when its quiet time for the two of us- and I talk to you and stroke my belly and you jump around like youre playing with me right back with tiny kicks and punches )

If you were born this week, you'd only have a chance of about 25-35% rate of survival. I cant tell you how important it is that you stay in there and keep growing! You do your best to stay in and stay safe, and I'll do my best to keep us both safe. No silly things like lifting, pulling, pushing, or rollerskating or bicycling any more. The doctor will not allow it since I am considered high risk. That being said, lets do our best.

You are doing an awful lot of moving around - swimming, kicking, punching, shifting, rolling and stretching out and some dancing of your own. I am still enjoying your movements and love knowing that you are growing and getting along so well in there.

Whatever it is youre doing, keep it up. I love you little sweetheart and I cant wait to meet you
